Pushkar Dere perfect at 1st Imperial Chess World Rapid Rating Open 2025
Pushkar Dere scored won 1st Imperial Chess World Rapid Rating Open 2025 with a perfect score 9/9. He finished a full point ahead of others. FM Anirudhha Potawad and FM Vedant Nagarkatte scored 8/9 each. They secured second and third place respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹10000 and ₹8000 along with a trophy each. The one-day nine round Rapid Rating tournament was organized by Imperial Chess World at Aarna Swarna Banquet Hall in Vasai, Maharashtra on 1st June 2025. Pushkar Dere made a blazing start winning eight games in-a-row. FM Jaiveer Mahendru, FM Anirudhha Potawad, FM Vedant Nagarkatte and Ram Vishal Parab were trailing him by a full point at 7/8 each. A draw in the final round was enough for Pushkar to become a clear champion. However, he went for the maximum and defeated Ram to win the tournament with a 100% score. Anirudhha won against FM Gaurang Bagwe to finish second. Vedant scored a full point versus Jaiveer to claim third place.
A total of 306 players including an IM took part from various parts of the country. The one-day nine round Rapid Rating tournament was organized by Imperial Chess World at Aarna Swarna Banquet Hall in Vasai, Maharashtra on 1st June 2025. The time control of the event was 15 minutes + 3 seconds increment per move.
